The Archives map collection includes maps of Mineral Point and Iowa County, as well as early maps of the area formerly known variously as the Northwest Territory, Michigan Territory and Wisconsin Territory. The map above, originally collected by Robert Neal, is titled “Carte des Cinq Grands Lacs du Canada”, is dated 1764, and is possibly the first printed map to reference the “Great Lakes.”
